Welcome to another edition of our employee spotlight series! This month, we shine the light on our 2nd Shift Hull Rd. Plant Manager, Justin Marshall! Check out the blog below to learn more about his journey, interests, and much more!

How many years have you worked at CSW?

6 years and 4 months!

Do you have any pets? If so, tell us their name!

I sure do! A cat named “Fitzy” she’s a female “Torty”, and she sure has Torty-Tude! Lol

What do you enjoy most about your current role and the team you work with?

That’s a tough one! I’d say what I enjoy mostly in my role is keeping the relationship with my employees in great standing, working beside them, and being a support and resource for them. I enjoy the “2nd Shift” that we’ve created!, the personalities and the work we get done!

What are your future goals, both personally and professionally?

Personally – To slowly restore an old Cadillac that I’ve had for a number of years (It’s slowly coming together lol).

Professionally – To become a better version of the role I’m working in , each day.

What song have you completely memorized?

Which one?! To name a couple off the top of my head would be:

Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Rocky Mountain High by John Denver

I’m not sure I have enough room to type all the songs I’ve memorized 😂

What’s the best piece of advice someone has ever given you?

Short term pain = Long term gain

My oldest sister told me that a long time ago, I carry it with me and reference it from time to time.

Describe yourself in three words.

Indecisive, Patient, and Caring.

Would you rather have a personal library or a personal movie theater?

Personal movie theater for sure, I’d be playing Star Wars, Lord of the Rings series, and the Matrix trilogy’s.

How do you approach work-life balance, and what do you do to unwind?

Personally, I try to set a boundary for myself to separate work and life. Now that doesn’t always work, but I’ll always keep trying to a certain extent.

I unwind by coming home, jamming to music and cleaning my house, If my personal space is clean and organized, that gives me great relief.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

“This will be all yours one day” (Pertaining to 3rd shift)- David Miller said that to me as a Draw Bench Supervisor, and boy he wasn’t kidding 🫡.

Christmas is right around the corner, does your family have any holiday traditions?

Yes, we all get together and have dinner with family and extended family.

If you could relive one day in your life, what would it be?

I’m not sure, It’d probably be the day one of my children were born…..That was exciting and stressful at the same time lol

What skills or experiences do you believe have contributed most to your career success?

I think it’s my versatility, My ruggedness and certainty. Hand me any situation and I’ll persevere through!

What’s your favorite childhood TV show?

Bill Nye: The Science Guy!

Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

Introvert with extrovert qualities?, does that make sense? lol

Coffee or tea?

Coffee! Give me all the coffee pretty please!

What’s one thing you can’t live without?

My family.
