4140 Cold Drawn Bar

Capital Steel & Wire is a distributor of 4140 grade cold drawn steel bar stock. With high chromium content, 4140 bars have high hardenability, and the molybdenum content provides high strength and uniformity of hardness. Unlike other grades, the carbon content of 4140 grade steel allows it to hold up well to heat treatment, while having good wear resistance and strength.

With responding well to heat treatment and being moderately easy to machine, 4140 cold finished steel bar is practical and useful for machining applications and for a variety of different parts, including fastners, bolts and gears.
