How many years have you worked at Capital Steel & Wire?
It will be 3 years in September.
What do you enjoy most about working at CSW?
How we are encouraged to be ourselves. There is a balance of fun and knowing when to buckle down.
What initially drew you to your field, and how has that passion evolved?
It started when I was working in Corrections. I used to teach re-entry classes to the prisoners, which then moved to another division of the State of Michigan, where I would have individuals with different resources that were needed. I would say the way my passion has evolved is by wanting to learn as much as I can when it comes to HR, and learning how to implement what I’ve learned for the staff/company.
Who do you consider your professional role model?
Honestly, I do not really have a particular role model, but I have multiple individuals who have inspired me throughout my life.
What’s one professional goal you would like to accomplish over the next 5 years?
In the next 5 years, I would like to see myself at a higher level within management.
What is your proudest professional achievement?
Currently, working on my master’s degree!
What is one of the most valuable lessons you’ve learned in your career?
Treating people with respect can change the course of things.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Teleportation, because I like to travel, and it would make it easier to do.
Who has been your biggest inspiration in life and why?
My children are my inspiration because they give me the motivation to keep moving and evolving.

If you had a time machine, what event would you love to witness in person?
16th century – 20th century
What’s your favorite hobby and how did you get into it?
Riding motorcycles/ATVs. I’ve always been fascinated by motorcycles and fast cars.
What’s a quote or mantra that inspires you?
“If there’s a will, there’s a way.”
What’s your go-to comfort food?
Fruit snacks/gummy bears
What’s the most unique place you’ve ever traveled to?
I would say Dominican Republic.
