Monday April 22 is Earth Day and we are excited to highlight a few things we are doing as a company to help improve our carbon footprint and protect our environment. From our work gloves, recycling of steel, and our Solar Panels, here is some information about CSW:
Work Gloves
At our facilities, we have been using a glove recycling program that recycles our work gloves when no longer in use. In 2023, we were able to recycle 5,414 pairs of cut resistant gloves, saving several thousands of gloves going to landfills.
Recycling Steel
One of the types of metals that can continuously be recycled without loss of quality is steel. By recycling all of our unused steel, it not only avoids waste to landfills that could harm groundwater and plant life, it ultimately results in a reduction of CO2 emissions. CSW recycled 3,405,641 lbs of steel in 2023!
Solar Panels
CSW has Produced 58,467 kWh of electricity from our Eden Rd facility solar array. In June, the plant produced more electricity than it consumed!
Solar panels do NOT produce emissions out into the environment while generating energy. The clean energy from the Sun slashes down gas emissions while also conserving earth’s resources through renewable energy.
CSW looks forward to continuing our search in new ways to be green!
