As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we will be shining the light on some of our team members who have been with Capital Steel the longest. How many years have you worked at CSW?

  • 20 years

How did you end up in the steel industry and what initially attracted you to Capital Steel & Wire?

  • It presented a new challenge professionally and the family atmosphere attracted me to CSW specifically.

Can you share an experience or story that particularly stands out to you?

  • The community of people that work here at CSW and the longevity of many of those employees. That speaks volumes about the type of company CSW is, which is a great story itself.

What lessons have you learned from your time here that you would share with newer employees?

  • Patience, understanding, and clear communication would be key phrases/lessons. Being part of any company requires a lot of these qualities, and buying into them early will help new employees get ahead faster.

What have been the most significant changes you’ve witnessed in the industry and company during your tenure?

  • The most significant changes come with companies starting/stopping business and adding/removing capabilities. Over 20 years, I’ve seen a lot of both, and witnessing CSW’s growth has been great to be a part of.

What are your hopes for the company’s future, and how do you see your role in that vision?

  • Continued strategic growth, with me contributing as much as possible in whatever role is required.

How long have you been coaching basketball? If you had to coach any other sport, what would it be?

  • In total, about 20 years. If I had to coach another sport, I would probably choose Soccer.

If you could have any animal as a pet, regardless of practicality, what would you choose?

  • Lion

Do you have any pets?

  • A dog named Memphis.

What is your “go-to” gas station snack?

  • Mini Chocolate Donuts

If you were a transformer, what vehicle would you turn into?

  • Truck

What’s your “guilty pleasure” TV show that you’re slightly embarrassed to like?

  • Family Feud

What is one thing you’re a ‘snob’ about? (Coffee, pens, socks, etc.)

  • Email organization

If you had a completely free day with zero obligations and no phone, how would you actually spend it?

  • Driving around looking for new places to grab a good bite to eat.

If you had to teach a class on something you’re NOT a professional in, what would it be?

  • Music or Podcasts?
