Capital Steel & Wire carries 1215 grade carbon steel in a wide range of shapes and sizes.
1215 steel is often considered a higher quality alternative to 1018 grade steel as it is often has fewer machining limitations and may minimize tooling maintenance and improve the cutting ability and machine life of equipment. 1215 steel has higher quantities of phosphorous and sulphur, which offer cleaner finishes and higher tolerances.
Below are the chemical and mechanical properties of 1215 grade steel.
